"How necessary would it be to pay taxes after aliens arrived?"
In addition to the obligatory propaganda like star bios, trailers, and sound bites, the Independence Day site does an excellent job hyping the possibility of alien attack. Features include background material and Web links on UFOs and a variety of conspiracy topics, instructions on how to survive an alien attack (the Federal Emergency Agency recommends a nonelectric can opener and sturdy shoes), and a wealth of multimedia content that goes far beyond H.G. Wells in simulating an alien invasion.
